Fleur Shakespeare
Evidence Project Manager
Fleur has a central role at the Centre for Disaster Protection within project management and operations as the project manager for the Sahel programme and the Evidence Function. She provides support in financing, procurement, contracting and project delivery and has worked in technical specialisms across social protection, disaster risk financing and resilience. As well as making sure things get done, she takes a proactive approach to bridging the relationship between the Centre and DAI, the Centre’s managing agent. Fleur is part of DAI's Evidence, Learning, and Technical Assistance Facility (ELTAF) team and facilitates cross-team knowledge sharing and learning.
Prior to her role at the Centre, Fleur built her experience in project management, working closely with a range of leading public sector organisations, from NHS governing bodies, County Councils, and the Armed Forces. She specialised in procurement and meeting societal demands, particularly within Social Care and Special Educational Needs. Fleur sought to broaden her knowledge, project and operational experience by completing a Masters in Humanitarian Engineering with management before applying her skill set to the Development sector.
Beyond her professional life, Fleur strives to live sustainably and enjoys exploring and hiking the UK’s outstanding areas of natural beauty. She is also a force to be reckoned with on the Rugby field.
